Paint Blending Practice
Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 8:52AM In this video we revisit the techniques first explained in "Brush Technique: Blending", and have a bit more practice on this crucial skill. If you haven't watched the earlier video, it's a good idea to do that first.
And if you want to practice along with the lesson, here is the lesson .JPG

another particularly well made video!
I like this dynamic more than others.
Awesome, to the point and I learned something!
Thanks
If you like Google Sketchup you should give Blender a try :)
This is a brilliant idea!! Thank you very much for sharing <3
HIi MAtt... Hi everyone!
Well... I have a doubt about your video training. For example... Grayscale to color, well.. I´ve already seen some video about it at ctrl+paint
What I mean is... What is the content that this video has ... that the site does not have?
thanks a lot for spend your time making video tutorials and sharing with us
Hi matt, Quick question and im going to sound like a total PS noobie here but, when you say Flatten the layers, do you mean merge? I have CS5 but the only options for me are to merge layers and flatten image (which flattens the whole thing).
Thanks for the great vids
Keep it up :)
Churchx - great question. Yes, I did mean "merge".
This is an area of painting I have a great deal of trouble with so thanks for putting out this video. I could use the revision as I know this is a topic I struggle with. I downloaded the jpg and did some practise last night. I enjoyed your rendering tutorial I brought from your store and my vase came out OK so I will definitely buy another tutorial.
One area I would love to see covered is how to create good character sheets with front, side, and back views in Photoshop.
Hi Matt,
Really enjoying your videos here, I was wondering what are your thoughts about the mixer brush tool?
I find it works quite well, the only caveat being that it's not too good with transparencies, you rather have to duplicate layers instead using new empty ones.
Keep up the excellent work
Marc
Hey Matt,
Let me start of saying i think your tutorials are awesome but only question for this video is where do i get the texture brush to get as good as yours
Why not reduce the opacity instead of flow or do you find that lowering the flow has more of a painterly effect?
